Disability Policy Consortium, Promoting Progressive Public for Texans with Disabilities

What Is The DPC?

The Consortium is an independent group of statewide advocacy organizations that strives to achieve the development and full implementation of public policy that promotes and supports the rights, inclusion, integration, and independence of Texans with disabilities.

What The DPC Does:

  • The DPC identifies and analyzes public policy issues that affect Texans with disabilities and their families.
  • The DPC generates accurate and timely information on issues which affect Texans with disabilities and their families.
  • The DPC informs policymakers of the needs and concerns of Texans with disabilities and the Consortium's Guiding Principles.
  • The DPC coordinates advocacy activities among the Consortium's membership.
  • The DPC works within a policy issue committee structure.
  • The DPC unites to take joint policy positions on issues which affect Texans with disabilities and their families.

How is The DPC Funded?

Funding for The Disability Policy Consortium is provided by the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities and United Cerebral Palsy of Texas.

Any policy position taken by The Disability Policy Consortium may not reflect the position of the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities.
